What is e-Commerce and e-Business?
E-commerce (or electronic commerce) refers to the online buying, selling and marketing of goods, services and experiences using electronic means. E-business (or electronic business) is the conducting of business on the Internet, not only buying and selling products/services, but also researching, communicating with and servicing customers, or interacting with employees, suppliers and business partners. Some define e-commerce as a monetary transaction segment of e-business, but in most cases, the terms are synonymous. E-business is one of the fastest growing segments of the global economy, and a critical component of business operations for companies of all sizes. As more and more companies are doing business over the Internet, the demand for more experienced professionals who can complete more technical jobs is growing rapidly. Specifically, larger corporations including financial services, banks, manufacturers, retailers as well as public services organizations such as defense and aerospace companies, look for individuals who possess e-business knowledge and training, and telecommunications skills.
