In 1981, LA College was founded by K.C. You, PhD. to provide the highest quality, entry-level training for students interested in meeting the specific needs of the data processing industry. The school, named Institute of Computer Technology, or ICT College, has since become accredited and grown to offer degree and diploma educational programs in business, graphic design, and healthcare-related fields, mainly to Los Angeles residents, under the executive leadership of Dr. You.

In 2006, ICT was acquired by the American Way Education, LLC, headquartered at Austin, Texas and renamed LA College International. LA College has since redirected its focus on education for entrepreneurship and broadened its scope of service to offer online degree programs and several concentrations to students around the world. These new programs are designed to satisfy the needs and help realize the dreams of the next generations.
